Our story
How Neon Orca was founded
Carly started learning to play PLO in 2024 and wanted better tools to learn with. With her software and data science background, she started making homebrew tools to study the game faster.
As she was pitching Chris, her poker bestie on the beauty of PLO, she also floated the idea of turning those tools into a company. Chris had ideas on how to make poker training tools more user-friendly and stepped in as co-founder. The rest is history.
Together, they're on a mission to build a welcoming community around the great game of PLO.
Meet the founders
Carly
She spent years leading robotics product teams and scaling an early-stage startup through acquisition before bringing her data background to poker. With over half a million online hands and high-stakes stream experience behind her, she's now building software to reshape how players study the game. She splits time between Vegas and Colorado, heading off-grid to explore mountain trails with her dogs whenever she steps away from the screen.
Chris
A globe-trotting creative with roots in Guam, Chicago, and Seattle, he put himself through 3D animation school dealing blackjack on the graveyard shift. That hustle eventually led to building massive worlds at Retro and Bluepoint Studios, helping bring iconic titles like Donkey Kong Country Returns and the Demon's Souls remake to life. True to form, he's happiest connecting with new people, crafting great visuals, and traveling just about anywhere for an unforgettable meal.
